Edgeland

Fall is here so start pigging out on Halloween candy, throw on a sweater, and smash Edgeland into your brains mouth. This week on the show Bill dives back in to the X files to explore another mystery of straightedge culture. In the interview segment of the show Bill talks with Mike McTernan of Damnation A.D. and When Tigers Fight. Mike talks about discovering straightedge in the DC area, holding on to the straightedge label, and trying to be a positive influence. In the non edge column Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour and Beasts of No Nation talks with Bill about the direct influence of the local DC scene, the best way to audition a singer in your band, and how Darkest Hour started to build its following. This episode is one that should not be missed.

With Fall right around the corner and the leaves changing there is one thing you can count on always staying the same, Friday means a new episode of Edgeland Podcast. This week on the show Bill takes things back to '93 with the opening segment of the show. It might be the dumbest thing you hear all month. In the interview portion of the show Bill talks with two men from the San Diego hardcore band Unbroken. In the edge column Rob Moran talks about his days learning the xylophone, San Diego hardcore, and his new coffee bar, Heartwork. In the non edge column Steven Andrew Miller talks about the little arguments that teenagers make a big deal of, straightedge in the 90's, and playing Unbroken reunions after the edge break. If you are in the band Earth Crisis you might want to skip this episode.

The Native American summer is here in all its glory and so is Edgeland with a brand new episode to brainwash you into being hardline edge. This week on the show Bill goes over some tattoo ideas that, thankfully, never made it out of the rough draft phase. In the interview portion of the show things get deep, real deep. In the edge column Bill talks with Walter Delgado of Rotting Out about going edge at an early age, the possible negative affects of being edge, and striving to make changes for the better. In the non edge column Bill talks with Dan O'Mahony of No For An Answer, 411, and Done Dying about his musical progression, his thoughts on reunions, and having a mentality of compassion. This episode is one for the ages.

As August gets distant in our rear view mirrors you can rely on a brand new episode of Edgeland to ease you into your new post summer routine. This week on the show Bill goes over some football facts he finds interesting. It is easily the best way to start the new football season and make you a super fan. In the interview segment of the show Bill talks with Chandler Mercer of the Springfield, MO hardcore bands Free At Last and Self Worth. Chandler talks about the ridiculousness of being told you are too young to be edge, dealing with Midwestern peers, and establishing a hardcore scene. In the non edge column Bill talks with Matt Warnke of Bold. Matt talks about getting taken under the wing of the boys of Youth of Today, his own personal evolution, and the lasting power of Bold. You can check out his new band here.
