Edgeland

With the  most pointless non-holiday firmly in our rear view mirror we can all continue on with a brand new episode of Edgeland. This week Bill starts a very massive and potentially polarizing undertaking. Over the next 3 weeks, all 25 Minor Threat songs (Out of Step is counted once) will be ranked from "Least Best" to "Best" and this week we hear songs 25-16. In the interview portion of the show Bill talks with Jonathan Diener of The Swellers and Braidedveins about not wanting to be defined by one thing, the horrors of caffeine, and being let down. In the non edge column Bill talks with DJ Steven Faith about growing up in DC, getting started as a DJ, and the spotting the charlatans. A very fun episode to get your weekend kicked off right.

Now that your taxes are a thing of the past you can finally relax and start planning on how to not pay them next year. While you wait for that, here is a brand new episode of Edgeland to have fun with. This week Bill plays a loving tribute to his loving mother that will be celebrating a birthday this week. In the interview portion of the show things are a little bit different. Jason Hamacher of Battery and Frodus returns to talk about his company Lost Origins. Jason gives a super sized interview on how the company started, what led him to break edge, and the power of hardcore. A fascinating interview from start to finish.

Another Friday is here, the work week is over, and Edgeland is in your ear canal. This week on the show Bill talks about the time he witnessed some police brutality, and surprisingly he is on the side of the cops on this one. In the interview portion of the show Bill talks with Joe Hardcore, the man behind This Is Hardcore Fest. Joe talks about being exposed to metal early on, Bad Luck 13 breaking everything, and how kids might be too wimpy these days. In the non edge column Bill talks with stand up comedian Andy Sandford. Conversation topics include skateboarding, stand up comedy, and the parallels between the two. A great episode to help you through the day.

Hopefully you all escaped April fools day unscathed. Whether you are now covered in burns because someone pulled the old "exploding gas oven" trick or you had your entire body shaved in your sleep there is now an episode of Edgeland to ease you into the weekend. This week on the show Bill talks about the time he stared death directly in the face and said "Not today death, I will cooperate". In the interview section of the show Bill talks with Reba Meyers of Code Orange and Adventures about Pittsburgh punk, playing music with long time friends, and the differences in scenes. In the non edge column Bill talks with a man who has played in too many bands to list, stand up comedian John Tole talks about living a double life as the jock and metal head, leaving corporate America, and stand up comedy. A great show to start off the April showers.
